Our original Brooklyn Boot Wax is a throwback to how shoe polish was made in the glory days, when manufacturers still made things to a high standard and did not resort to using byproducts, fillers, even artificial "fragrances" to create a cheap, though inferior product. American farms provide environmentally friendly cold pressed orange peel oil. We will never use petroleum derivatives or solvent extracted turpentine. Only the good stuff.

Every chef knows that wood and bamboo make the best food prepping surfaces and that a good chopping block is an investment well deserving of protecting, since wood and bamboo both dry out over time, which causes warping and cracking. The answer is to use a moisturizing and nourishing oil-based wax, but unfortunately the solution most companies have come up with includes the use of mineral oil, a cheap byproduct of the petroleum industry, which is not something we feel we should be slathering all over our wood prep surfaces. Instead, we created our own formula consisting of expeller pressed grapeseed oil, beeswax, carnauba wax. So nourishing and safe in fact, that we recommend applying the stuff with your hands and using any excess as a skin conditioner.

The combination of natural waxes and oils found in our Cotton + Canvas Wax works to not only keep wind and water out, but also adds a unique and notable finish to any fabric. Simply warm up wax puck with a hairdryer to soften, then rub on fabric, like a crayon, saturating entire surface to be waxed. Then use hairdryer again on waxed fabric to melt in.
